Prompt and efficient. As soon as I checked in I was called back for my appointment. The staff, from the receptionist to the hygienist, is very friendly and knowledgeable. I was given a full tour and a full explanation of the appt. prior to start. The first appt. is long but it went fast - very smooth and efficient. The office was very clean and the latest equipment is being used. The dentist is very invested in his business and employees and it sure shows. I moved to MN about 2 years ago and I think I've finally found a dentist I can stick with.
If I could give this zero stars, I would. I see all the other reviews on here, and they are all positive. I am happy other people had a great experience, as I did not. I have Delta Dental state insurance. When I called to schedule my appointment (they could get me in pretty quickly for an initial appointment, which should have been a red flag), I asked if they take Delta Dental. I was advised with good cheer yes, just bring your card to your appointment. The correct response should have been, "We will accept your Delta Dental and submit it, but we are an out of network provider, so you will not get the coverage you would with a provider in the network." So, I go to my appointment, blindly fill out the paperwork. At this point, this is my fault I continued with the appointment, as it said on it, they were an out of network provider. I still feel this should have been conveyed to me when I called to make the initial appointment. I was given a tour in which I didn't like the closeness of all of the chairs, as I felt there was zero privacy. All I heard was bragging about all of their equipment, multiple times. My dentist was unprofessional, I could barely understand him, and he spoke unprofessionally about Commerce Drive Dental, but don't worry, he advised to me they had good dentists, but that I came to the right place. I have a tooth that needs a crown. This doctor basically made me feel like I had to do their option of a ceramic tooth, all out of pocket costs, and didn't even realize a crown was an option. I was even told, "Other dentists will do what your insurance covers, we will do what's best for you." Well, to me, getting a ceramic tooth that costs $1300 or more, versus a crown that insurance almost all covers, is NOT taking care of your patient; it's taking advantage of your patient to put $'s in your pocket. Again, they are the only dentist that does that work because of all of their totally awesome equipment!! Well their wonderful equipment caused me a huge bill. Delta Dental only paid for 13% of my bill. But that's OK because of the wonderful technology they have. I made an appointment at Commerce Drive Dental, in which I had an awesome experience. Completely professional, they didn't even ask why I left North Mankato Family Dentistry. I was provided a detailed printout of options for which teeth and my cost of the portion, which is only 20% NOT the entire bill up front. When I wanted to transfer my information to Commerce, they tried to charge me a $25 fee..... for MY information! Which, is absurd in my, and other peoples', opinions. I was told they would waive the measly $25 fee if I paid my entire bill, which was $430. Well, I wasn't very happy with that. They did waive my fee, but threatened to send me to collections if I didn't pay in full in 30 days....30 days! I paid them off, I'm glad to be free. This is my personal experience. I just felt they care about $, not the actual patient. Commerce, took pics of every tooth they recommended refilling and explained why, very thorough. I'm leaving this review, and the door is completely shut.
Attention all disabled vets looking for excellent dentistry. Especially those who have drug allergies and problems with generic medications. I highly recommend Dr. Flack and his team especially Linda my hygienist and the two Melissa's my assistants, who have helped me conquer my dental fear and nervousness especially since I avoided the dentist for 18 years. Here at North Mankato Family Dentistry I was treated with kindness, respect, and in a very professional and attention to detail manner. Everyone at this office is wonderful, highly trained and have a good sense of humor since I leave with a smile on my face which was definitely not the case in my past. The VA covers the services I receive here very well and sedation dentistry with just a pill has made going to the dentist a piece of cake!
We've been going to North Mankato Family Denistry for more than 10 years and we've never been happier. Drs. Schuck and Flack are fantastic and really seem to care about their patients and their families. The front desk staff is always pleasant and helpful. I especially like Linda, the hygienist. She's amazing! Always so friendly and genuine.
My first time appointment, so it took awhile. This is facility is super up to date! They have all of the latest technology! They are all super friendly, efficient, and very kind as well. I highly recommend them.
