THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!! Drove in they looked at it for about an hr or 2, came and got me had me look/listen to sounds and a diagnostics. Took it for a 20 minute drive on the highway check EVERYTHING!!!!! Looked me straight in the eyes told me it wasn't the fuel pump, the mph gauge is messed up, RPMs are on point, this is a solid van but, 'It not the fuel pump and I don't think you need to replace it, it was probably just bad gas!" check a few other issues, topped of my antifreeze cause it was a little low and said we should be good.
I'll be as short and to the point as I can but want everyone to understand how nice and honest I feel these people are. I would bring a vehicle to and recommend Austins auto repair to ANYONE!! This all happened 2 months ago so its fresh we just got back.

Got 2 hrs away, stopped to get gas, wouldn't start! Called 5-6 garages, talked with Austin's. They were the nicest and straight forward. Said, "I don't want you to be stuck or have to pay for a tow truck........try this......" We listened, did it & it started 5-10 minutes later. Decided it was the fuel pump or bad gas. Thanked him, he said "good luck and if you have any other questions or issues call me I'll try and help."
Billed us, in my opinion, almost nothing for their time and checks. DID NOT fix a part that didn't need to be fixed, the fuel pump or make something else up (and I wouldn't have had ANY ideas, would have just assumed it was the pump that was the issue. Now, 2 months later I know it was just bad gas because it never happened again)
Found a Chevy 1988 conversion van (which I was 7, when it was made), it had ok miles, in solid shape. I know very little about cars. We decided to buy it, just had a feeling. Had it double checked at a Chevy dealership garage and had any issue, which was tiny, fixed. Loaded it up....left for our adventure.
We decided that if it was the fuel pump it should get fixed sooner then later. Austins didn't have anything invested, they just wanted us to drive away happy from the gas station. I'm from the East Coast and don't know anyone really in MN, so thought we should drive back to Mankato and fix the pump now so we can drive it down south for 2 months and not worry. Called them back and made an appointment to have it checked, and drove back.
Like i said, don't know these guys, anyone from the garage, or the area. Austin's auto had ZERO reason to waste 3 hrs of their time, interrupt their schedule or could be making more money of a car that was already there, rather then help us for "nothing". NO reason and they did. AWESOME people all around. These kinds of people are few and far between.
Came here on recommendation and had work done on our van. Staff was incredibly friendly, patient with our questions and kept us up to speed on their progress. Rates were fair and they reviewed all the repairs they did with us in great detail. So far the repairs seem to be just what we needed, everything is working the way it should. Would definitely recommend, and will certainly be at the top of our list when we need work done on our vehicles!
We had our vehicle break down in a parking lot and called Austin's for help. They walked us through how to get the vehicle started again so we wouldn't have to pay to get towed 85 miles back to Mankato. Of course we took the vehicle in to them once we made it safely back to town and they provided excellent service. They explained everything in great detail and got our vehicle up and running again. I would 1,000% recommend them to everyone I know and love. They will only do what needs to be done to your vehicle and treat you with respect and not try to rip you off. (While waiting for my vehicle, an elderly woman came in for help to change her car clock back to standard time. They helped her and sent her on her way free of charge. That is the kind of caring and compassionate service I look for.) Good people providing great service and helping their fellow humans when they're in a jam.
Great service! This is the only place I completely trust with my car.
